This 175-minute DVD includes two movies. These are: SPECIAL DELIVERY: The Cornish Mails in the last summer of the Penzance - Bristol - Penzance Traveling Post Office and ARRIVING AT DAWN, a locomotive cab-view of the rail line from Truro to Penzance.

The first video is a 135-minute detailed account of how a British Railway Post Office --called a Traveling Post Office (TPO)-- functioned. Aside from interior and external views of the TPO cars, there is a substantial amount of railroad history and operational information presented. TPOs were discontinued in 2004, but this outstanding video memoralizes the operational efficiencies that marked their effectiveness since establishment in 1838.

Take a cab ride with the locomotive driver in ARRIVING AT DAWN. This 40-minute bonus enables you to observe the right-of-way along the southwestern tip of Great Britain. It's a great opportunity to see contemporary British railroading without catching a flight to Heathrow and haggling a cab ride for yourself.

Here are some brief sample video clips from SPECIAL DELIVERY:

Typical interview with employee about TPO operations

Cab view of TPO train pulling into a station

Arrival at another station

These video clips aren't as good as what is on the DVD. They only hint at the interesting material that rail historians and postal researches will find in these programs. Your absolute satisfaction is guaranteed. If not pleased, you may return the DVD in good condition and receive a full refund including your return Media Rate USPS postage.
